Fall sports continued for Pungo Christian Academy last week, even though the football team had Friday off.

Volleyball: The Lady Raiders upped their win streak to five matches with victories over Unity Christian and Cape Hatteras last week. Pungo defeated Unity 3 sets to 1. Raylee Lynch was a force at the net with 17 kills. Julia Rouse led the team with six aces while Anna Stoop had 20 assists. It took five sets to defeat the Hurricanes from Cape Hatteras last Thursday. Lynch was dominant at the net again with 19 kills. Rouse, Lynch and Katie Bowes each had four aces. Bowes and Rouse each had 22 digs while Stoop had 31 assists. Pungo will hit the road again this week with conference matches against Lawrence Academy and Ridgecroft School.

Girls Tennis: The PCA Girls Tennis team picked up their first win of the new season with a 6 – 3 win over Bertie. Juliette Pence, Bailey Hodges, Sayla Brown and Emily Copes all won their singles matches to lead the way. The Lady Raiders are now 1 – 2 on the year and will travel to Northeast Academy and Ridgecroft School this week.

Soccer: The Raiders soccer teams rough start to the 2024 campaign continued with 9 – 0 defeats to NEAAAT and Cape Hatteras. Ryan Rouse had 10 saves in each contest. Pungo traveled to Mattamuskeet on Tuesday before opening conference play against Ridgecroft on Thursday.
