The Northside girls golf team won its first-ever Coastal Plains Conference match on the first try with a five-shot victory over host East Carteret at the Beaufort Club this week.

East Carteret’s Carley Fulcher took medalist honors with an 83, one shot ahead of Northside senior Claire Holmes. Panthers sophomore Sophie Berry was third at 86, while senior Samantha Braddy (109) completed the team score of 279.

Pamlico Co. was a distant third at 377.

The Panthers are 3-0 in the first year as a girls golf program.
