Local author, Katirie Leach (also known by K. H. Leach), held an author signing at Pamlico Books on Thursday, Sept. 12 to celebrate the recent publication of her second book, “Dirty Deeds: The Devil’s Seeds.”
Set in the small, fictitious, eastern North Carolina town of Hope Springs, “Dirty Deeds” uncovers mayhem, mystery and murder that seems to follow the prominent Garrett family. “Dirty Deeds” is the sequel to Leach’s “Weed in the Field” where the family’s troubles begin.
“All I’m saying is if you do bad things, bad things are going to happen,” Leach said about the plot of her latest book.
Leach is currently writing a third installment of the Garrett family series. A publication date has yet to be determined.
Leach began writing during the pandemic. She, like American philosopher Henry David Thoreau, believes people who want to become authors should go “confidently in the direction of their dreams.”
“I believe anything you want to do, even if it’s playing the tuba, get out there and do it,” Leach said, “never think you can’t, because if you want to do something bad enough you can do it.”
“Dirty Deeds” and “Weed in the Field” can be purchased from Pamlico Books (149 N Market Street).
