Stokes man arrested for fentanyl distribution

On Sept. 13, deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, N.C. State Bureau of Investigations and Pitt County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Dominique Cherry of Stokes, NC on multiple drug charges.
This arrest stemmed from deputies conducting controlled purchases of fentanyl from Cherry. As a result of this investigation, deputies seized 68 grams of fentanyl. Cherry was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond for two counts of Trafficking in Opium/Heroin (Fentanyl). More charges are expected to come.
