WASHINGTON, N.C. – Beaufort County is blessed to have some talented young athletes on the high school level.
Everyone knows about past stars like Dominique and Gerald Wilkins, Bam Adebayo, Walter Rasby and even Ryan Zimmerman. That tradition continues today with well over a dozen former high school stars from Beaufort County currently at the college level.
One of the biggest names currently playing sports is Terry Moore, a Washington High graduate playing on the Duke football team. He played a big part in the Blue Devils’ rally past North Carolina, 21-20, in the Victory Bell Bowl last Saturday.
Moore, a junior safety, led Duke with 10 tackles, seven solo, and one for loss. He has 27 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble through the first five games of the season.
Below are the athletes we know about currently in college playing sports. If you know of any others, feel free to let us know at jasonboyd@mail.com. We’ll add them to the list, keep up with them and post their accolades during the athletic season.
