The Salvation Army of Washington is collecting donations that will be used to purchase pallets of water bottles. Pallets will be transported by transfer trucks to western North Carolina.
Supplying the purchased water is Walmart of Washington. They are partnering with the local Salvation Army Corps to ensure water is transported to the mountains. A donation of $250 will cover the cost of one pallet.
Those who would like to donate can contact Paige Davis at 252-945-3462. Checks should be made out to the Salvation Army and the memo should include “water for western North Carolina.” Checks can be delivered to the Salvation Army at 112 E. 7th St., Washington.
At this time, there is no deadline to submit donations.
