Bath and Belhaven are having an action-packed weekend. Historic Bath State Historic Site will host its annual Bath Towne After Dark Halloween event and the Belhaven Chamber of Commerce will be busy putting on the second annual Trout Tournament and Festival.
Terrifying and spooky sights are expected on Friday and Saturday night during Bath Towne After Dark. Organized by Historic Bath State Historic Site and Not Quite Shakespeare, Bath Towne delivers frights from centuries past. Beginning at 6 p.m., attendees can learn about historic medicine practices and grief during the Victorian Era. If brave enough, participants can watch seasonally appropriate silent horror films or listen to a collection of tall tales around Drifter’s Campfire. Wandering actors, or “spirits” will roam and share their tales from years gone by.
Participants can enjoy performances of Bath’s most notorious legend – “The Devil’s Hoofprints,” or laugh along to a performance of “Pyramus and Thisbe” by The Showboat Theater. Finally, what would an event in Bath be without pirates? Local lore will be shared by pirates in the Pirate Show.
Participants are encouraged to roam and enjoy timed theatrical performances at their leisure.
