PLYMOUTH, NC β€” The 9th Annual Career Pathways Challenge and Guidance Retreat, held on Sept. 30, 2024, at the Vernon James Conference Center in Plymouth, successfully brought together attendees from across a wide range of agencies in the region. Leaders in education, workforce development, and community services gathered to collaborate on solutions that will build stronger career pathways for residents of northeastern North Carolina.

The event featured insightful workshops, including a session on project management by Pat Harris, Director of Planning, Economic Development & Community Services for the Mid-East Commission. Dr. Stacy Gerard, Vice President of Continuing Education at Beaufort County Community College, also led a forward-thinking workshop on the ethical and effective use of generative AI in career pathway projects and beyond.

Attendees participated in collaborative discussions, brainstorming sessions, and teamwork activities designed to enhance career development initiatives that align with regional workforce needs. The enthusiasm for continued collaboration and commitment to career readiness was evident throughout the day.

Brandi Bragg, Workforce Connector for NENC Career Pathways, shared her excitement: β€œIt was a great success to see so many key stakeholders come together to share ideas, learn from one another, and begin implementing real solutions that will have a lasting impact on our workforce.”
