Mr. Larson earned a BS in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado-Boulder in 1959 and began his distinguished 33-year career with IBM shortly after. Jon and Marilyn eventually found Chocowinity, NC where they lived for over twenty-two years exploring the sea, sand and farmlands near North Carolina’s Crystal Coast.
Ever inquisitive, Jon was an intrepid traveler and inspired amateur photographer. He enjoyed meeting new people, hiking, sailing and volunteering for many different community organizations including the City of San Jose Senior Citizens Commission and the North Carolina Estuarium. He was recognized for his leadership efforts and stewardship through many awards and accolades from business, social and philanthropic groups.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday October 26, 2024 at Snyder Funeral Home in Willow Street, PA. The family wishes to thank all of Jon’s friends, acquaintances and caregivers who helped make his journey memorable. It was a life well lived.
