P.S. Jones football advances to conference final with win over NOTR

P.S. Jones Middle School advanced to its conference championship after a 32-6 win Thursday over North of the River, a team comprised of athletes from G.R. Whitfield, Stokes, Bethel and other middle schools.
The Demons (5-0) led 32-0 at the half after touchdowns by Julian Pender (45 and 23 yards), Jahcere Collins (5) and Jacere Parker (19 yards). Pender’s first score gave the Demons an 8-0 lead following the two-point conversion run by Jaiden Boyd. Collins’ touchdown and two-point conversion run increased the lead to 16-0.
In the second quarter, Pender’s second score and Boyd’s two-point conversion increased P.S. Jones’ lead to 24-0. Parker scored his touchdown and two-point conversion to close out the first half with a 32-0 lead.
The Demons finished with 206 yards rushing. Parker rushed for 70 yards on eight carries while Penders had 68 yards on his two touchdown runs.
