Traffic stop results in felony drug arrest of Craven County man

On Dec.1, 2024, Corporal Medlock with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division initiated a traffic stop on US17 South near Crystol Lane in Chocowinity. The vehicle continued traveling south before coming to a stop on Wilmar Rd. in Craven County.
As a result of the traffic stop investigation, 31-year-old Juan Francisco Sandoval of New Bern was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond for the following charges:
-Felony Trafficking in Cocaine (Two Counts)
-Felony Possess With Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine
-Felony Possess With Intent to Manufacture Sell/Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance
-Felony Possess With Intent to Manufacture Sell/Deliver Marijuana
-Felony Possession Synthetic Cannabinoid
-Felony Maintaining Vehicle for Drugs
-Misdemeanor Possess Drug Paraphernalia
-Misdemeanor Possess Marijuana Paraphernalia
