Christine Boyd Oliver, age 81, a resident of Boyd Community in Pinetown, joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, December 2, 2024. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Everetts Church of Christ with Dennis Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris-Jarvis Cemetery in the Long Acre community. Bobby Price, Jr., Lanie Price, Tim Boyd, Gregory Ormond, Willie Jefferson, and Matt Respess will serve as pallbearers. Mark Boyd, Jay Boyd, John Oliver, Jesse Respess, and Edward Oliver will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Everetts Church of Christ from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and other times at the home.

Christine, born on August 14, 1943, in Beaufort County to the late Ferrell Vance Boyd and Callie Windley Boyd, lived a life that touched countless hearts. A proud 1961 graduate of Bath High School, Christine’s life was filled with love, kindness, and service. On September 6, 1961, she married Fernie Harding Oliver, Jr., and together they built a family and a home. Christine devoted herself to her family, friends, and neighbors, always ready with a helping hand or a meal made with love. Her passion for gardening and cooking was matched only by her commitment to her church and community. From volunteering in schools to serving those in need, her graciousness knew no bounds. She was an active member of Everetts Church of Christ, where she served in the Ladies Aide, as well as the Pinetown Emergency Services Ladies Auxiliary and the Beaufort County Mental Health Association, where she held the position of secretary. Christine’s kindness and service left an indelible mark on her church and community. For as long as her health allowed, she committed her life to serving and caring for others. The legacy of Christine’s love, care, and devotion will live on in the many lives she touched.

Christine was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Robert Boyd, and sister, Annie Laura Price. She was survived by her loving husband, Fernie Harding Oliver, Jr. of the home, her children, Lorie Ramsey of Pinetown, Sherry Oliver of Pinetown, Butch Oliver (Tabitha) of Pinetown and Connie Woolard (Derek) of Hampstead, sister, Barbara Helen Young of Spring Hope, grandchildren, Mandy Jefferson, Christina Smithwick, Ashley Haddock, Danielle Waters, Dylan Woolard and Tiffany Oliver, great grandchildren, Robert Smithwick, Chloe Campbell, Briley Smithwick, Walker Waters and McKay Woolard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pinetown Fire/Rescue/EMS, 7262 N. Boyd Rd., Pinetown, NC 27865.
