RiverStreet Networks is leaving cable service behind in 2024. Instead, they encourage customers to switch to streaming.
Starting Monday, Dec. 30, RiverStreet Networks will no longer offer cable services to existing and future customers. A spokesperson for the phone and internet service provider said the service was too expensive to continue offering to customers.
“We are certain we are ending cable TV service,” Mike Meinel, director of marketing for RiverStreet, said. “It’s just very expensive to provide the service. Programming costs go up exponentially every year almost…It’s a business decision we’ve had to make, and [customers] have until the end of December to do something.”
RiverStreet customers are encouraged to keep their internet service and use MyBundleTV to find an ideal combination of streaming companies tailored to their interests – including local channels, sports, news and more. MyBundleTV is a free service which helps viewers find channels that match their viewing habits and receive personalized movie and TV show recommendations. Customers can visit, https://mybundle.tv/riverstreet/start, to find the best combination for their needs.
Customers without a Smart TV can choose from available streaming devices like Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, Google TV and Roku.
Customers were notified of the change in an announcement sent with their bill.
