The Christmas break wasn’t exactly time off for the Washington and Northside high school boys’ basketball teams.

Washington wrapped up play after two games in the John Wall Invitational last Saturday in Raleigh. Northside took part in the Virginia Hoopfest Showcase Series in Franklin, Va. Washington dropped games to Garner (63-57) and Word of God (72-58) to fall to 7-4 overall. The Pam Pack have lost their last four games with two others in a Christmas tournament at Greenfield Academy.

Northside lost to Norfolk Collegiate, 78-50 to fall to 6-2 going into Monday’s home game against Lawrence Academy.

Washington continues its very tough schedule with games on Friday and Saturday. The Pam Pack open Eastern Plains Conference play at Farmville Central on Friday. The Pam Pack and Jaguars are regarded as two of the top teams in 2-A east of Raleigh this season.
