Mrs. Mary Margaret Burke Vick, 82, of Rich Square, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Rich Square Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square.
Mrs. Vick was born in Boone County, Iowa, on June 18, 1926. She was the daughter of the late William Parnell and Annie Pearl Burke. She graduated from Broadlawns Hospital School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1948 as a registered nurse. She was married to Joseph Jerry Vick Sr., who survives. Her career began at Roanoke Chowan Hospital in 1948 and concluded with the Northampton County Health Department in 1984.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Vick of Pasadena, Calif.; two sons, Mike Vick of Rich Square and Jerry Vick of Washington; two sisters, Gladys Heinen and Betty Anderson; three brothers, Billy Burke, Martin Burke and Bob Burke; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Santi and one brother, Paul Burke.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square.
