Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.
I live in Washington, and I participated in the triathlon this past weekend. One look at the roster for the 90-plus people who participated showed that most of them were from out of town. Afterward, when I went to eat downtown, I noticed several participants and their families eating in local restaurants. So, I don’t think law enforcement’s time and effort is wasted on these road-race weekends. I think it comes back around in the end. In addition, we need law enforcement to keep us safe on the road when people are speeding by us, blowing their horns.
Where was the newspaper coverage of the multicultural event? It was standing room only. It was great.
I agree with the caller in Sound Off regarding the waterfront. People need to remember that this waterfront area belongs to all taxpayers, not just the people who live right there.
