SNOW HILL: Mrs. Viola Mills Mooring, 97, passed away Tuesday morning, March 24, 2009, at Beacon Arms Assisted Living Center. Mrs. Mooring was born March 1, 1912, the daughter of Nabe and Laura Dudley Mills. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Johnnie R. Mooring, in 1993. Mrs. Mooring was a homemaker and a member of Davis Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend Doug Nalley officiating. Committal Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Mooring is survived by: a daughter, Iris Mooring Ginn of Snow Hill; a son, Thomas Mooring and wife, Roberta of Snow Hill; sisters, Annie Myrtle Warren of Chocowinity and Doris Bonner of Ayden; grandchildren, Keith Ginn of Bethel, OH, Alan Ginn of LaGrange, Joel Ginn of New York, NY, Glenda M. Gibson of Fuquay Varina, Ty Robbins and Danny Robbins, both of Snow Hill, and Michael Robbins of Powells Point; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Thursday and other times at the home of Thomas and Roberta Mooring, 170 Mooring Lane, Snow Hill.
