Mr. Marion Lee “Tumble” Green Jr. of 2449 Cherry Run Road, Washington, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Beaufort County Medical Center in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Loving Union FWB Church, Washington, with Bishop A.H. Hartsfield officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Green was born in the Whootentown community of Beaufort County on March 2, 1919. He was the son of the late Marion Lee Green Sr. and Jessie Harvey Green. He attended Mother of Mercy Catholic School in Washington. He was a brick mason. In April of 1946, he married Edith Alston Green, who survives.
Survivors include his children, Delores of Norfolk, Va., Marion, Irvin and Oscar, all of Washington, Inez of Durham and Charlene of Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by his six siblings and one daughter, Iris Green.
The family will receive friends at the home.
A wake will be held today from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
