Mr. Darron Todd Sherman, age 49, of 2417 Gilead Shores, Blounts Creek, NC passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Holden Beach, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at First Baptist Church, 509 Kingold Blvd, Snow Hill, NC, officiated by Dr. Gene Martin. The family will receive friends following the service.
At 4 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2009 a memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall in Mars Hill, NC.
Mr. Sherman was born March 13, 1960 in Hendersonville, NC to C.B. and Sylvia Steinmeyer Sherman. He was married to Janice Marie Speight. Together they had lived in Eastern North Carolina for the past ten years. Darron was employed in the construction business and had been working with Alstom Power in Kentucky at the time of his death. He had worked in several states and was both well liked and respected by his co-workers. Being from the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina, Darron had a passion for camping and fishing and bluegrass music. He loved spending time with family and friends and his faithful companions, Booger, Charlie and Layla.
In addition to his mother, survivors include one son, Christopher Sherman and wife Jessica of South Carolina; one daughter, Aundrea Shealy and husband Jason of South Carolina; one stepson, Kyle Whaley of Ayden; four brothers, Thad Sherman of Elkin, Keenan Sherman and wife Donna of Newport, TN, Stacy Sherman and wife Erin of North Dakota, Jerry Sherman of Iowa; two sisters, Cheryl Messerschmidt and husband Bill of Marshall and Lisa Sherman of Marshall; and two granddaughters, Cadence and Reagan.
Darron was preceded in death by his father, C.B. Sherman.
