Shanna Marie Shaffer, age 24, a resident of 211 Shad Bend Drive, Washington, died Friday, May 1, 2009.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, conducted by Gary Murphree.
Ms. Shaffer was born in Pitt County on November 22, 1984. She was the daughter of Missy Shelton Sutton and James Harold “Jim” Shaffer, Jr. Ms. Shaffer served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Korea and Afghanistan. She loved outside sports, the outdoors and nature.
Ms. Shaffer is survived by her father, James Harold Shaffer, Jr. of Washington; her mother, Missy Shelton Sutton of Washington; her step father, Douglas E. Sutton of Washington; three brothers, Marshall “Bo” Shelton Sutton, Thomas Douglas Sutton II, and Brantley Dylan Sutton all of Washington; a sister, Sierra Dawn Shaffer of Washington; maternal grandmother, Lovie B. Shelton of Washington; paternal grandmother, Mary Marie Shaffer of Washington and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 2788 N. Market Street Ext., Washington and other times at the home, 211 Shad Bend Drive, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shanna Marie Shaffer Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, N.C. 27889.
