Mrs. Ruth Main Clark, age 74, of 6293 River Road, Washington, died Sunday, May 3, 2009.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2009 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens with John Gibson officiating. Jimmy Main, David Main, Gary Fisher, Larry Gibson, Harry Main, and Mark Main will serve as pallbearers. Bobby Gibson and Robbie Main will be honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Mrs. Clark was born July 8, 1934 in Boise, Idaho. She was the daughter of the late Wilbert Ogal Main and Eloise Wallace Main. Ruth was a graduate of Washington High School. She was a retired Sales Coordinator with DuPont in Kinston and was also a Mary Kay consultant for over 30 years. Ruth held the position of Senior Region with the Women of the Moose in Washington and volunteered with the American Red Cross and The Salvation Army.
She is survived by two sons, Curtis Clark, and wife, Jill of Stokes, NC, and Byron Clark of Ozella Keys, FL; one daughter, Sonya Clark of Washington, NC; one brother, Harry Main of Washington, NC; one sister, Helen Gibson of Fuquay-Varina, NC; two grandchildren, William Clark, and Adrianne McCreary; and one great-grandchild, Trenton McCreary; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Wallace Main; and one sister, Jennette Main Fisher.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: The American Red Cross, 135 North Market Street, Washington, NC 27889.
