Mrs. Martha Marie Nelson Beauchemin, 90, of 409 North Haughton Street, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Plumbee Nursing Center in Plymouth. She was born in Martin County on October 1, 1916 to the late John Aldrich and Eva Peele Nelson and was predeceased by her husband, Charles D. Beauchemin and a granddaughter, Donna Waters.
Mrs. Beauchemin was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was a former psychiatrist aide at Shepard Pratt in Towson, Md., for 15 years.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Woodlawn Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Travis. The family will receive friends before the service on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn B. Tarkington and husband Gerald of Plymouth, Mary Charles B. Hardcorn of Williamston and Frankie B. Terry and husband Stuart of Conover; grandchildren, Kelly Sue Bailey of Raleigh, Carol Elaine Tarkington of Raleigh, Jennifer L. Rogers of Westchester, Ohio, John Randolph Hardcorn of Houston, Texas and W. Greg Terry of Newton and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial gift may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, 4330 Bland Road, Raleigh, NC 27609-6125. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
