Mr. Britt A. Harrell, age 53, a resident of 202 Washington Harbour, Washington, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Donald A. Wiesner officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home, 202 Washington Harbour.
Mr. Harrell was born December 30, 1955 in Beaufort County to Ann Harrell Hill and the late Jonas B. Harrell. Britt graduated from Pamlico Community School and attended East Carolina University. He was employed as an automotive salesman for Lee Chevrolet and several other dealerships in the Greenville and Washington area; most recently, with East Carolina Auto of Greenville. Britt was married to Rhonda Willis Harrell, who survives.
Survivors include one daughter, the light of his life, Brittany Taylor Harrell; mother, Ann Hill; one sister, Bess Chandler and her husband Ricky; and two nephews, Joshua and Matthew Chandler.
Britt was a “river rat” who enjoyed spending time with his friends on the Pamlico River where he grew up boating, skiing and swimming. He also enjoyed his time with the many friends he made through the years.
