Elsie Toler Ireland, 71, of Aurora died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Carolina East Medical Center.
She was a member of Dublin Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Ireland and son, Michael Ireland.
She is survived by her son, Ellis E. “Buddy” Ireland, Jr. of Aurora; one daughter, Lois Griffin and husband, Gary, of Aurora; one brother, David Toler and wife, Peggy, of Franklin, Va.; two sisters, Ada Smithwick and husband, Frank, of New Jersey and Ruth Riggs and husband, J.L., of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Amber McMullen and husband, Joe, of Norfolk, Va., Trudy Willis and husband, Camden, of Blounts Creek, and Anthony Griffin and wife, Holly, of Willow Springs; and one great-grandson, Joey McMullen of Norfolk, Va.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Graham Lane and Rev. Owen Peele officiating. Interment will follow in Dublin Grove FWB Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home, 66 Dublin Run Rd., Aurora, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial contributions be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, PO Box 639, Wilson, NC 27893.
