On Thursday, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Beaufort County Animal Control in reference to possible animal cruelty.

Deputies responded to Davis Lane in Pinetown and assisted Animal Control with an investigation. Five deceased dogs were discovered on the property. One of the dogs appeared to be a hound mix. Several of the dogs were located inside kennels, while others were found tied with ropes and small chains to stakes in the ground.

The investigation into the deaths of the animals continues.
