Mr. Lovett Hines “Bucka” Phillips Jr., age 52, a resident of Ephesus Church Rd., Blounts Creek, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Howard Waters and Jeffray Waters.
Bucka was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 20, 1959, to the late Lovett and Adelaide Buck Phillips. He was owner and operator of Phillips Home Improvements. He had a love for life, fishing, playing the guitar and music, the outdoors, helping others and especially his family and their heritage.
Survivors include his wife Carol of the home, his son, Tim Phillips of Williamston, three sisters, Debra Renfro of Burnsville, N.C., Angela Huffstetler and husband Tommy of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Cindy Haynes and husband Ralph of Roanoke, Va., his mother-in-law, Rita Galland-Corley of Aurora, sister-in-law, Claire Ireland of Aurora, brother-in-law, Paul Galland and wife Nina of Washington and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
