Mrs. Joyce James Tyson, 75, died Saturday, July 25, 2009.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Greenville, NC. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tyson, a native of the Stokes community of Pitt County, attended school in Stokes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Major F. Tyson, her parents, Jasper Ray and Novella Powell James, three brothers, Michael James, Bradley James, and Alston James.
She is survived by her two sons, Mitchell F. Tyson of Swansboro, NC, and Mickey F. Tyson and wife, Kaye, of Garner, NC; three daughters, Becky T. Jackson and husband, Dail, of Chocowinity, NC, Kathleen T. Haithcock and husband, Michael of Youngsville, NC, and Susie T. Clark and husband, Harold, of Clayton, NC; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; three brothers, Joseph James of Denver, CO, Calvin James of Williamston, NC, and Bobby James of Murfreesboro, AK; and one sister, Linda J. Barrows of Greenville, NC.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
