WASHINGTON, N.C. — Mrs. Margaret E. Simpson Berlando, age 83, died Friday, January 26, 2007, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2007, at Oakdale Cemetery with Mike Huppmann officiating.
Mrs. Berlando was born April 15, 1923, in Petersburg, Va. She was the daughter of the late William Frank Simpson and Ada Florence Daniels Simpson. She was married to Joseph Berlando, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2000. She was a graduate of Sladesville High School and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Joey Berlando of Washington and Lermon “Butch” Berlando of Great Bridge, Va.; two sisters, Mary Midgette of Washington and Kathleen Owens of Beaufort; two brothers, Roy Lee Equils of Reidsville and Terry Lee Equils of Niagra Fall, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Joseph A. Berlando II, Amy Berlando Hartz and Beth Berlando Brady and her husband, Sean; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and April Brady.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Berlando.
