David Franklin (Frankie) Duke III, 52, of 22 East Road, Taylor’s Beach Community, Columbia died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
Born in Norfolk, VA., October 5, 1956, he was the son of Barbara Estes Randolph and the late David F. Duke, Jr. He spent most of his working years as a brick mason in construction industry and also worked with a dredge company. His wife, Margaret, preceded him in death and he later moved to Columbia to live with his mother.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 in the chapel of Bryan Funeral Service in Columbia.
Surviving are his mother, Barbara Randolph of Columbia; a son, David F. Duke IV of Virginia; three brothers, William P. Duke of Norfolk, VA, Melvin T. Carroll of Currituck and Joseph Earl Estes of Hampton, VA; a sister, Tammy Rayburn of Murfreesboro TN.
In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by a brother Jeffrey Wayne Duke.
