Claude B. Keyes

Claude B. Keyes of Philadelphia, formerly of Chocowinity, N.C., died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, with visitation at noon at Metropolition AME Zion Church, Washington.
Claude was born Dec. 9, 1935, to the late Leroy and Julia Chapman Keyes in Beaufort County. He attended P.S. Jones High School and served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two daughters: Tanya “Tammie” Keyes of Philadelphia, Pa., and Teresa Morton of Norfolk, Va.; four grandsons, one great-granddaughter, four sisters: Mildred K. Randolph of Washington, Velma “Val” K. Picone and Elsie K. Mason, both of Greensboro, N.C., and Lenora K. Porter of Philadelphia; two brothers: Leroy Keyes of Washington and Joseph Keyes of Philadelphia Pa.; a niece B.J. Keyes, raised as a sister, and nephew Alvin Keyes, raised as a brother.
The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Mildred K. Randolph at 208 W. 7th St. and his niece, Barbara K. Phillips at 124 David Circle, Washington.
