Mr. Benny Pittman Rogers, Sr., 68, of Plymouth died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at his residence.
Born May 13, 1941 in Martin County he was the son of the late Ben Staton Rogers and Lula Mae Gardner Rogers and was preceded in death by his brother, Luther Rogers. Benny retired from Weyerhaeuser Corporation with 37 years’ service as a HVAC technician and was a member of Community Christian Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1183.
His family includes his wife, Linda Harper Rogers of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, Lisa R. Coltrain and husband David of Jamesville, N.C.; son, Benny P. Rogers, Jr. and wife Nancy of Plymouth, N.C.; step-daughters, Christie Dixon of Norfolk, Va. and Marie Romero of El Paso, TX; step-sons, Joseph Cuellar and wife Lisa of Virginia Beach, Va. and Jacob Cuellar and wife Edith of El Paso, TX; sisters, Peggy Roberson of Plymouth, NC., Margaret Rawls, Patricia Leggett and Ann Hardison of Williamston, N.C., Linda Craft of Belhaven, N.C. and Carolyn Dickerson of Greenville, N.C.; brothers, Jimmy Rogers of Statesboro, GA., Felton Rogers of Williamston, N.C. and Billy E. Everett of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren, Jonathan Coltrain, Eric Coltrain, Austin Rogers, Lindsey Rogers and Gracen Rogers; step-grandchildren, Wesley Dixon, Brittany Dixon, Melinda Dixon, Vanessa Romero, Jeremy Romero, Jaclyn Romero, Jasmine Cuellar, Devin Paradis, Joey Cuellar, Kailey Cuellar and Emily Linda Cuellar.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Maitland Memorial Chapel, Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood and Reverend Dell Hagwood officiating.
