Margie Lyndoria Davenport Hodges

Margie Lyndoria Davenport Hodges, 44, a resident of 834 U.S. Highway 64 East, Columbia, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

Born in Plymouth, March 27, 1967, she was the daughter of Lawrence Alfred and Mable Bright Davenport of Columbia who survive. She was married to Jeffrey Wade Hodges Sr., her most devoted husband who survives.

Lyndoria was a Nursing Assistant I and formerly worked with Britthaven of the Outer Banks. More recently she served as a substitute teacher at the Columbia Elementary School and Columbia High School and also drove a school bus. She always attended the Pentecostal Holiness church.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Assembly of Praise, officiated by the Rev. Elmo Daniels.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are two sons, Jeffrey Wade (J. W.) Hodges Jr. and wife Renee, and Keith Alfred Dwayne Hodges and wife Jamie, all of Columbia; a brother, Warren Davenport of Columbia; a sister, Debbie D. Varner of Wendell. She was expecting her first grandchild in February and is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Kaylee Campbell, Shane Brinn and Dylan Hughes.

Lyndoria was preceded in death by two brothers, James Ray Davenport and Alfred L. Davenport.

The family will receive friends at the church following the funeral service on Sunday.
