WINDSOR — Doris Jean Taylor, 76, daughter of the late Glenn and Ottilia Taylor, died Sunday November 1, 2009.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Ascension Lutheran Church in Wilson, NC.
Doris, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, had resided in Wilson and Tarboro prior to moving to Windsor in February of 2009. She was a graduate of St. Roselia Nursing School. She had authored two children’s novels and was currently working on her third.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dorow.
She is survived by her: son, Ronald St. John and wife, Norma, of Chesapeake, VA; daughters, Robyn E. Roscoe and husband, Steven “Ricky”, of Roper, NC, and Ruth E. Anderson and husband, Michael, of Toccoa, GA; grandchildren, Richard Dorow Jr., Hannah St. John, Michael St. John and Dillon Notz; sisters, Imogene King and Terry Nelson Taylor of Pittsburgh, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ascension Lutheran Church, 2512 West Nash Street, Wilson, NC 27896.
