One-vehicle wreck closes road

A wreck involving a log truck closed a section of Slatestone Road outside of Washington early Monday afternoon.
The one-vehicle wreck, which occurred about 12:15 p.m. near the intersection of Slatestone and Terrapin Track Road, resulted in no injuries, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.
The fully loaded log truck was turning from a dirt road onto Slatestone Road when its rear wheels went into a ditch, resulting in the truck overturning, according to the Highway Patrol. Logs were removed from the truck before wreckers were able to right it.
It was not immediately known if charges would be filed.
