Pam Pack splits in Lee Memorial Wrestling tournament|Hill wins all four matches by pin

The Washington Pam Pack had a one-point win and a one-point loss while splitting four matches during Saturday’s fifth annual Eli Saleeby Lee Memorial Wrestling Tournament.
The Pack notched a 34-33 win over Nash Central and a 54-27 victory over Hertford County, while dropping a 38-37 loss to Cardinal Gibbons and a 50-30 setback to Currituck County.
Marquin Hill and Daniel Garcia both had big days for Washington. Hill (10-1) won all four of his 285-pound matches by pin. Garcia (9-2) won all four of his 119-pound matches, taking three by pin and the other by major decision.
John Campbell, at 152 points, also had a solid day. Campbell (4-5) won three of his four matches, each by pin.
Justin “Weasel” Moore (9-0) won his three matches at 171 pounds, one by pin. The senior improved to 133-7 in his career, moving within seven wins of surpassing Gerald Lawrence (139-13) on the all-time win list.
Brandon Price (4-4), who wrestled at 140 and 145 pounds, went 2-2 on the day. Michael Gardner (5-6), who competed at 130 and 135 pounds, also went 2-2 in the tournament.
Lance Brimmage (2-0) picked up a pair of wins at 140 pounds.
Seth Derner (1-5) recorded his first win while going 1-2 at 103 pounds.
John Rodman (1-1) also earned his first win at 160 pounds.
Going 1-1 during the tournament were Jaquez Columbus (1-2), who earned his first win at 215 pounds, Matthew Williamitis (4-4) at 135 pounds, Malik Moore (3-4) at 189 pounds and Jeremy Dietrich (1-5), who notched his first victory at 215 pounds.
Michael Goldberg (6-4) went 1-2 at 160 pounds, while David Giordano (2-7, 103 and 112 pounds) and Gregory Squires (1-4, 125 pounds), who earned his first win, each went 1-3 on Saturday.
Marcus Reddick (0-1, 171) was 0-1 and Raphael Gibbs (1-2, 189) went 0-2 in the tournament.
Washington wrestles Tuesday at Havelock.
