Rodman Ball

Mr. Jack “Rodman” Ball, age 90, a former resident of Market Street Ext., Washington went to be with his Lord Friday, December 11, 2009.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, December 13, 2009 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by Pastor George Daniels. Burial with military honors will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Troy Ball, Danny Alligood, Ed Jones Jr., Herman Grissom Jr., Linwood Ambrose and Billy Braddy will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Ball was born in Beaufort County on December 14, 1918. He was the son of the late James Calvin “Jimmy” Ball and Patsy Anne Jackson Ball. Mr. Ball served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired farmer and a member of Wares Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mr. Ball was married to the former Clara Hardison, who preceded him in death in November 1991.
Mr. Ball is survived by his sister, Betty Davenport of Columbia, N.C.; step brothers, Troy and Lee Ball; and step sisters, Ann B. Harrell, Jeanette B. Whitehead and Nellie B. Liverman.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Ball was preceded in death by a son, Jack Rodman Ball, Jr.; a daughter, Judith “Judy” Elaine Ball; sisters, Marie Ball Jackson and Lola Ball Cox; and brothers, James Charles and Russell Ball.
The family received friends from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
