Mrs. Rosalin Slade Linton, age 89, a resident of 7188 Hwy 99 North, Pantego, NC died Wednesday December 16, 2009 at the Beaufort County Medical Center in Washington.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday December 19, 2009 at the Union Grove Church of Christ officiated by Rupert Wallace and Scott Askew. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery. Jerry Giles, Kenneth Allen, Jay Allen, Bob Adams, Tony Harris and Terry Cooper will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Linton was born in Beaufort County on September 7, 1920 daughter of the late Charles Alexander Slade and the late Dora Allen Slade. She attended Pantego High School and married Luther Linton on December 17, 1939 who preceded her in death on February 12, 1974. Mrs. Linton was a homemaker and a member of Union Grove Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son: Ben Linton of the home; a daughter: Marie L. Skinner and her husband Bobby of Bath; two sisters: Dean Peed of Fayetteville and Lona Belle Colan of Chesapeake, VA; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son: James Luther Linton, Jr.
The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday December 18, 2009 at the Union Grove Church of Christ and at other times at the home.
