Copper wraps up season in style|Area stars continue to shine

Terrance Copper, a former standout at Washington High School, finished up his first season with the Kansas City Chiefs in a nice way.
He had two catches for 57 yards, including a career-long 50-yard reception on Kansas City’s first offensive possession, in a 44-24 win over the Denver Broncos in the season finale. Copper also had two special teams tackles.
For the season, Copper had four catches for 68 yards, 15 special teams tackles and one kickoff return for 18 yards.
In his career, Copper has 50 receptions for 668 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 27 kickoff returns for 520 yards (19.3 average), along with 56 special teams tackles.
DAMIEN WILKINS
Damien Wilkins, a Washington native, is playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Wilkins is averaging 6.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.9 steals per game.
OVERSEAS BASKETBALL
ELTON COFFIELD
Elton Coffield, a former standout at Williamston High School, is playing for the BSW Sixers in Germany.
Coffield is averaging 20.8 points per game.
JOSEPH BARBER
Joseph Barber, a former standout at Terra Ceia, is playing for CS Energia Rovinari in Romania.
Barber is averaging 11.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.8 steals per game.
RALPH BIGGS
Ralph Biggs, a former star at Washington High school, is playing for Krasnie Krilya Samara in Russia.
Biggs is averaging 7.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.6 assists per game.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Jordan Cantrell, a former standout player at Washington High School and Terra Ceia, is playing at Randolph-Macon.
Cantrell is averaging 6.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
HUNTER JOHNSON
Hunter Johnson, a former star at Pungo, is a captain for the Meredith Avenging Angels.
Johnson is averaging 8.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
SAMANTHA SMITH
Samantha Smith, a former star at Washington High School, is playing at Tallahassee Community College.
Smith is averaging 3.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
STEPHANIE HOLTON
Stephanie Holton, a former star at Columbia High School, is playing at Shenandoah.
Holton is averaging 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
COR-J COX
Cor-J Cox, a former standout at Washington High School, is playing at Mississippi Valley State.
Cox is averaging 3.4 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Bradley Van Staalduinen, a former star at Terra Ceia, is playing at Wingate.
Van Staalduinen is averaging 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

Gabe Gardner and Darien Peele, former standouts at Washington High School, are wrestling at Campbell University.
Gardner is 1-2 at 133 pounds. The freshman’s lone win was a major decision.
Peele, also a freshman, is 0-2 at 157 pounds.
SWIMMING
ANNA PFEIFFER
Anna Pfeiffer, a four-year MVP of the Washington Pam Pack swim team, is a member of the South Carolina Gamecocks swim club.
The freshman specializes in the breaststroke and intermediate.
Her best times are 1:51.44 in the 200 MR, 1:10.10 in the 100 breast, 2:31.43 in the 200 breast and 3:37.67 in the 400 FR.
