Paschal has huge night|Erupts for 47 points in victory

WILLIAMSTON — Katie Paschal has been on fire of late.
The Williamston senior, who will play basketball at East Carolina next year, erupted for 47 points in Friday’s 88-38 win over Plymouth in Four Rivers Conference play.
Paschal added 10 rebounds and six assists.
Zakkeya Morris contributed 17 points and four assists, Cassie Harrell had 14 points and 10 boards and Shakera Norfleet had 10 rebounds for the Tigers (9-0).
Paschal’s scoring outburst came one night after another big game. She poured in 38 points to go with 10 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in Thursday’s 81-27 victory over Mattamuskeet.
Morris added 12 points and six assists in that game.
Williamston’s boys also beat Mattamuskeet, taking a 75-41 victory.
Cougars split
The Emmanuel Cougars split their games with Cornerstone on Friday night.
The boys (6-2, 2-1) fell 50-39. Christian Watters had 15 points and Daniel Brantley eight for the Cougars.
The girls (5-3, 2-1) earned a 45-44 victory. Chris Morris paced the Cougars with 17 points while Jessica Rowe had 15 and Glory McKeever eight.
Emmanuel plays in Wilson on Monday.
Pungo splits
The Pungo Raiders were busy the last couple nights. On Thursday, the varsity boys (5-7) won 70-37 over Epiphany as Zack Credle pumped in 23 points. The varsity girls (6-11) picked up a 39-36 win as Tess Smithwick led the way with 12 points. Pungo’s junior varsity boys won 40-18.
On Friday, the varsity boys won 49-46 as Joseph Braddy had 19 points. The varsity girls fell 32-25 despite 10 points from Jenna Sadler. The junior varsity boys lost 75-42 and the junior varsity girls fell 41-17.
Pungo plays host to Ocracoke on Monday.
Terra Ceia stumbles
The Terra Ceia boys fell 52-28 to Oakwood. Derek Chesson had seven points and seven rebounds for the Knights (6-8, 1-2).
The Terra Ceia girls (4-10, 1-3) lost 42-37 to Albemarle. Paige Roberson had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Knights while Katie Jackson added 10 points.
Terra Ceia plays at Ridgecroft on Friday.
Scores
The Mattamuskeet boys topped Columbia 49-47.
The Roanoke girls beat Camden 44-38, while the Roanoke boys fell 64-62. The Redskins play host to North Edgecombe today.
