According to wire reports, East Carolina head football coach Skip Holtz has accepted an offer to be the University of South Florida's next football coach.
Holtz, 45, led the Pirates to their second consecutive Conference USA championship this season, and a second straight trip to the Liberty Bowl.
He compiled a 38-27 record in five years at East Carolina.
Holtz would replace Jim Leavitt, who was fired Jan. 8.
Reports indicate Holtz has notified ECU athletic director Terry Holland of his decision.
South Florida is expected to formally introduce Holtz at a news conference Friday.
