Irene Pugh Sadler, 94, of 20757 U.S. Highway 264 died Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Cross Creek Health Care Center.
Born in Gull Rock, Hyde County, August 3, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Amanda Payne Pugh. She was married to Benjamin Franklin Sadler who preceded her in death. She attended the Swan Quarter Christian Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Richard Smartnick, Dr. Ira (Sonny) Furrow and Steve Bryan will officiate.
Surviving are two sons, Joe Frank Sadler and special friend, Olga Jarvis, and Reid Gregory Sadler and wife, Sharon of Swan Quarter; three daughters, Dale S. Fick of Suffolk, VA , Lana S. Blake of Newport News, VA and Kerry S. Carawan and husband, Donald of Swan Quarter; a special sister, Essie Pugh Webster of Swan Quarter; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a special niece, Elsie Pugh Selby of Engelhard.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Earl, Leonard, Carl, James and Joe Pugh.
Special thanks are extended to Cross Creek Health Care Staff, Dr. Charles Boyette and Dr. Richard Young.

Friends may visit with the family at Bryan Funeral Service on Friday between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and other times at the homeplace.
