Mrs. Mary Frances Hardison, age 81, a resident of 409 Fourth Street, Oak City, NC died Friday January 22, 2010 at the Martin General Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday January 24, 2010 at Oak City Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Chris Shelton. Burial will follow in the Oak City Cemetery. Stevie Van Staalduinen, Mike Harrell, Robbie Beach, R.S. Brown, Dennie Edmondson and Michael Edmondson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Odell Bo Harrell.
Mrs. Hardison was born in Martin County on October 13, 1928 daughter of the late Bill Whit Stalls and the late Mamie Mae Scott Stalls. She married Kater Benjamin Hardison on January 10, 1948 who preceded her in death on July 6, 1999. Mrs. Hardison worked at Oak Manufacturing and Blue Ridge Shoe Co. and was a member of Oak City Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son: Milton Wayne Hardison and his wife Barbara of Washington; three grandchildren: Jessica Hardison, Victoria Hardison and Brandi Hardison; two step grandchildren: Stevie Van Staalduinen and Stacey Van Staalduinen; and four step great grandchildren. Mrs. Hardison was preceded in death by two brothers: Linwood Stalls and Billy Stalls and a sister: Margie Wynn.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 PM until the funeral hour at Oak City Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
