Mr. Jesse Paul Rice, age 38, a resident of 16162 NC Highway 32N, Pinetown, NC died Sunday, January 24, 2010.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2010 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Rev. Ray Webb and Karen Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Deal Cemetery, Aurora, NC. John Sawyer, Eric Sawyer, Jonathan Cristenberry, Vernon Silverthorne, Lee Gurley, and Mike Prater will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC and at other times at the home of his sister, 7176 Stokestown Saint Johns Road, Ayden, NC.
Mr. Rice was born in Beaufort County on October 5, 1971 to the late Mr. Jesse Bonner Rice and Paulette Jones Rice. Paul worked as an independent welder. He was a Master Diver and lived in Beaufort County most of his life. In addition, he was an avid bow-hunter and was a member of the Christian Bow Hunter’s Association and the Roanoke Archery Club. Paul was also a member of the Belvoir Free Will Baptist Church. He had also owned and operated the Last Call Convenience and Karaoke Bar in Scuffleton, NC.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of nine years, Bridget C. Rice; three daughters, Kayla Rice and Jessica Rice of Pinetown, NC and Caitlynn Manning of Falkland, NC; one brother, Tim Rice and wife Samantha of Pinetown, NC; one sister, Jennifer Rice and her fiancé Scott Maready of Ayden, NC; three nieces, Cheyene Rice, Summer Rice, MacKenzie Barrow and two nephews, Austin Barrow and Logan Barrow.
