Ms. Elaine Hattie LeGrand, 80, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Heritage Health Care Center of Farmville, NC.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 3505 South Walnut Street, Farmville, NC, officiated by The Reverend Al Mackenzie. The family will receive friends following the service in the parish hall.
Ms. LeGrand was born in Holyoke, MA on January 19, 1930, the daughter of the late Frederick L. LeGrand and Hattie Beauchamp LeGrand. She graduated from South Hadley High School in 1947 and attended the University of Oklahoma. Ms. LeGrand was a Woman of the Air Force (W.A.F.) serving in the United States Army Air Corps. She received an associate degree from Brunswick Community College while residing on Oak Island, NC. She was a real estate broker with Cape Fear Realty of Long Beach, NC, retiring in 1992.
Survivors are: daughters, Catherine J. Tripp of Farmville, NC and her fiance Stephen Holmes of Grimesland, NC and Barbara A. Jessen of Falmouth, ME and a son, Douglas R. Jessen and wife, Vickie of Washington, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 3505 South Walnut Street, Farmville, NC 27828.
