Tom Burton Hardy Sr.

Tom Burton Hardy Sr., age 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012. Born in Washington on Sept. 7, 1920, he served in WWII in the U.S. Army with the 11th Airborne Division as a paratrooper. After his return from the war, he worked with the federal government in Washington, D.C., and Bluemont, Va.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Agnes Patton Hardy, the mother of their children. He is survived by his present wife, Ursula Perkins Hardy; son, Tom Burton Hardy Jr.; daughters, Laura Lee Hardy and Patricia Hardy Howard; his son-in-law Alan Howard; his sister, Virginia Lee Hurdle of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his stepson, Jeffery Perkins and wife Sylvia and step-granddaughter, Victoria, all of Germany. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Oviedo, Fla.
The family will be receiving friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Oviedo, Fla. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lutheran Haven, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, or Hospice of the Comforter.
