Concerned and caring

To the Editor:

On Jan. 12, my husband and I ate supper at the Skylight Inn in Ayden. When we got home, he realized he had lost his wallet. Since we didn’t stop anywhere else, we knew it had to be at the restaurant. I called several times, but got no answer. I called Pete Jones. He said he was no longer affiliated with the restaurant, but gave me a couple of names I could call. He said the reason nobody answered was because they close at 7 p.m.

I called Bruce Jones, talked with his wife, Judy, and told her what happened. She said she would call her son who works there to see if they had found it. She called back, said nobody had seen it. At 9:36, p.m., she called me back and said Bruce, who owns the restaurant, had made a special trip there to look for the wallet and had found it.

We went Friday morning and picked it up. We talked with Bruce and thanked him. We just wanted everybody to know how concerned and caring they were. They went out of their way to help us, and for that we are truly grateful.
