Sound Off: 2/2/12

Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

Short and sweet: Is the county going to give a property-tax break to residents whose properties were damaged by Hurricane Irene?

To the people who are having to use the ferry to go to work: Think about the poor people, traveling salesmen or what have you who use their cars and gas keeps going up. Who’s going to subsidize them? Y’all need to start carpooling, buy a van and get a group together or get your company, such as the phosphate plant, to go in and get you suited up with a bus or something like that. Tolls are going to be for sure; taxes, too.

It looks like to me that we need Bobby Roberson and Doug Mercer on the City Council. They’re the only ones with good sense. They figured out we can’t spend anymore than we take in.
