Margaret “Mickey” Taylor

Mrs. Margaret Larkin “Mickey” Taylor, age 89, a longtime resident of Washington, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Fairhaven Retirement Community in Sykesville, Md., where she had resided for the past two and a half years near her son and several grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, conducted by Rev. Chris Leak, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Fayetteville, on Feb. 20, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Dr. E.W. Larkin and Lucy McIver Larkin. Mrs. Taylor was a retired insurance agent with Cooperative Savings and Loan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Prayer Group and Bible Study. She was also a member of the Sans Souci Book Club.

On Sept. 30, 1944, she married Louis Laverne Taylor, who preceded her in death, Sept. 28, 1970.

Survivors include a son, Louis Laverne “Larry” Taylor and wife, Susan Roebuck Taylor, of West Friendship, Md., and their son, David Alexander Taylor; a daughter, Beth Taylor Formisani and her husband, David Charles Formisani of Kernersville, and their children, Heather Formisani Moran and her husband, Scott, and their daughter, Sophia, and son, Noah of Silver Spring, Md.; Louis Charles Formisani and his wife, Meghan, and their daughter, Lucy, and son, Cody, of Baldwin, Md.; and Kathleen Formisani Calahan and her husband, Jay, and their daughter, McKinley, of Winston-Salem; and two sister-in-laws, Frances Larkin of Washington, and Henrietta Filer of  Hampstead.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Epps Taylor; two brothers, Dr. E.W. Larkin Jr. and James Vann “Jimmy” Larkin; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Campbell Larkin.
