Miss Dorothy Jean “Dot Jean” Tice, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 9, 2010.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 2 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church. Graveside will follow at 4 p.m. in Martin Memorial Gardens in Williamston.
A native of Martin County, Dot Jean has lived most of her life in Greenville. She was one of the original employees of Copymatic, a quick copy and print shop owned and operated by Easter Seals UCP North Carolina. She was recognized as Employee of the Year by Eastern Carolina Vocational Center (ECVC) in 1997, an award she was very proud of.
Dot Jean exemplified joy in every aspect of her life. She was a friend to many and was gifted in spreading sunshine. She enjoyed successfully participating in area Special Olympics.
Dot Jean was preceded in death by her father, William Woodrow Tice in 1988.
She is survived by her: mother, Dorothy A. Tice of Greenville; sisters, Jane T. Pacenta and husband, Cliff, of Williamston, JoAnn T. Boyd and husband, Michael, of Marietta, GA; nieces, Vickey Manning and husband, Tim, of Williamston, Janie Bailey and husband, Phillip, of Chapel Hill, Rev. Blair Zant and husband, Rev. Will Zant, of Atlanta, GA, and Noelle Boyd of Marietta, GA; nephew, Ryan Boyd of Atlanta, GA; great nieces, Jordan Fulford, and Madison Manning; great nephew, Ethan Cole Bailey.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
