Miss Katie Pearl Roberson, age 101, a former resident of East Second Street, Washington, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Britthaven of Washington.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Dr. Michael Price.
Miss Roberson was born in Beaufort County on July 17, 1908. She was the daughter of the late William Hilton Robinson and Mary Melinda Everson Robinson. Miss Roberson worked in the Dietary Department at Tayloe Hospital for several years. Later, she worked as a Nurses Aide at Beaufort County Home for 23 years. Miss Roberson was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington.
Survivors include three nephews, Harold Robinson and Cecil Woolard both of Washington, Carl Robinson of Eure, N.C.; three nieces, Hilda Pinkham Silverthorne and Ramona Craig both of Washington, Mabel LaBlanc of Florida; and a sister in law, Marie Revels Robinson of Washington.
Miss Roberson was like a grandmother to a great nephew, Harold Robinson, Jr.; a great niece, Rose Ann Bass both of Washington; and a great niece, Melinda Robinson Hardison of Chapel Hill.
In addition to her parents, Miss Roberson was preceded in death by two sisters, Caddie Robinson Woolard and Mamie Robinson Pinkham and four brothers, Walter Robinson, Wilbur Robinson, Ray Roberson and Guy Robinson.
The family will receive friends after the service at the home of her sister in law, Marie R. Robinson, 711 East 7th Street, Washington.
